1.February 6, 2018 – Charges: Abduction, Use of a Firearm – Dismissed by Judge
Our client, a 28-year Special Forces Retired Senior Chief with no criminal record, was charged with abducting his fiancé at gunpoint. He was facing a 3-year mandatory prison sentence. At the trial, we were able to show that his fiancé was lying. She was trying to set him up because she was afraid he was leaving her for another woman. There were no offers by the Commonwealth, and we worked diligently to get this case resolved. After a bench trial, all charges were dismissed by the judge.
2.February 1, 2018 – Charges: Child Abuse – Dismissed by Commonwealth
Our client was accused of injuring his 3-month-old baby in May, 2017. We were able to show that our client was not the only one taking care of the baby on the day of the incident. Furthermore, there were complicated medical issues that caused the baby to be admitted and released by one hospital, only to be readmitted to a different hospital later on. The baby’s physicians at the second hospital said the doctors at the first hospital did not treat the baby properly. Our attorney was able to show that our client was a victim of profiling, and that he did not in fact injure his child. The charges were dismissed.
3.January 26, 2018 – Charges: Malicious Wounding Dismissed by Court
Our client was involved in a shouting match with a bouncer at a local bar. The argument escalated, and our client was attacked by 8-10 men. During the fight, he grabbed a nearby pool table light to defend himself, and hit one of his attackers, causing a head wound that required several stitches.
Our client escaped the bar with his girlfriend to avoid the mob, and the responding police only heard the attacker’s side of the story. We went to the bar, interviewed witnesses, and investigated the incident to gather evidence. The Commonwealth made no offers. We worked tirelessly to prove our client’s innocence and self-defense, and the court
dismissed the charges.
4.January 25, 2018 – Charges: Sexual Abuse – Child Protective Services “Founded” Finding Amended to “Unfounded”
Our client was falsely accused of sexually abusing his daughter more than 10 years ago. At that time, we were able to assist with his case, and the charges were dismissed. However, the Child Protective Services (CPS) investigation that viewed the sexual abuse as “Founded” remained public record. We were able to get the CPS complaint reversed to “Unfounded” on behalf of our client.
